Replacements

Return & replace and Advance replacement RMAs carry outbound items alongside any inbound return. The replacement leg records what you ship, the carrier, and the tracking number. Ship-request queues on the Fulfillment list keep outbound work visible separately from inbound receiving.

When carrier tracking is enabled for your workspace, a confirmed delivery scan on the replacement leg completes it automatically — no one has to remember to close the loop. See Shipment tracking.

The repair lifecycle

Items dispositioned Repair at inspection get their own lifecycle on the item (requires rma:repair): pending → in progress → completed → shipped → delivered, with carrier and tracking on the shipped step. The item-level view keeps a ten-item RMA honest — three items restocked, one in repair, and the repair's own status never blur together.

Finishing the RMA

An RMA completes when its work is done — inspection finished, repairs delivered, replacements shipped or confirmed delivered. The timeline on the detail page records who did what and when, and completion feeds the dashboard's replacement completion rate and cycle-time metrics.
